Description

The sun-a-wear system consists of a solar-powered, portable sensor and exclusive access to the sun-a-wear app.

The Tracker: The sun-a-wear tracker is a lightweight sensor that can be clipped onto your clothing or accessories to measure the sun's UV rays.

The App: The sun-a-wear app syncs with the tracker and suggests protective measures as well as displays the total radiation dose that has accumulated throughout the day. You can set your UV dose limit in the app and it will inform you once you have reached it. The sun-a-wear app also includes a knowledge base section with informative articles on skin health, sun protection, and more.

How it works

  1. Wear your sensor on an area of your body that is heavily exposed to the sun.
  2. Set your UV dose limit, and the app will notify you when you reach it.
  3. Receive recommendations on protective measures based on your location and time of day.
  4. Log when you apply your sunscreen in the sun-a-wear app, and it will remind you when it's time to reapply.
  5. Use sun-a-wear for yourself and your loved ones. Manage up to 4 sensors at the same time conveniently in the app.

Using this daily and loving it

I just received my sun-a-wear yesterday and I’m OBSESSED. Not only did it ship insanely fast, it connected easily to the app and really works. I just ordered the bracelet too, after I realized how much it had to offer. Im an aesthetician in Arizona and being protected from the sun is huge priority. This device makes it easy and gives me reassurance. Im telling everyone I know about you guys! Thank you for creating a great product!! 👏

I highly recommend the sun-a-wear device. Its real-time UV monitoring and personalized protection tips make it an invaluable tool for preventing skin cancer and premature aging. I encourage friends, family, and patients to incorporate it into their daily routines.

Great concept overall. App has room for improvement

Honestly, it's been fantastic!

It's such a blessing to not have to wonder about sun exposure. The app looks good from a design perspective and has great info, but maybe feels just a little rough around the edges. I'm using an iPhone 14 and the edges of some of the screens seem to be misaligned. I'm sure with a few more iterations you'll get there. Biggest gripe would be that the widget is currently useless. It's just a clock, but there are a ton of in-app dashboards that I would like to see displayed on my home screen.

Feature wise, I would like to see a lot more notification options. Biggest missing one is a notification for adequate Vitamin D exposure. I'm often trying to balance skin aging with vitamin D production, so a notification on when I hit that balance would be awesome. Just like the reaching max exposure notification, that works really well.
Notifications around when the sun exits or enters UV 1 - 2 would be helpful as well, essentially notifying you when sunlight is in a healthy range. Honestly a whole suite of customizable notifications would be great. For example I love that you have the sun forecasts that show you at what time to wear a cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen. So perhaps a notification on when you should put each of those on and take them off would be great. Essnetially the goal here would be to help nudge positive sun habits in your users. Of course, control of these notifications would be key as each user has different preferences on what they consider a disruptive level of notifications.

Anyways, you can count me as a happy user. I'll be posting about your product on social media soon.

Brilliant product

Set it and forget it

The sun-a-wear sensor, an effortless UV radiation measurement device, remains comfortably worn on the body, allowing you to set it and forget it while it works in the sunlight.

Understanding UV index and dose

The UV index measures radiation intensity at a specific time, but the impact of UV radiation depends on total exposure. To assess accumulated UV over time, we use the UV dose — a measure indicating the overall radiation amount. This measure helps estimate the sun’s effects on the body.

What does the sensor measure?

The sun-a-wear sensor measures the UV index at irregular intervals. This depends on how much light reaches its solar cell. When the sensor is in the sun, it measures every 5 seconds. In the shade, it does this about every 20 seconds. The sun-a-wear app adds up the measurements to create a UV dose.

Solar-powered UV measurement

Worn on the body, the sun-a-wear tracker accurately measures UV radiation in the sunlight, ensuring you stay protected wherever you go. Thanks to the integrated solar cell, the sensor never needs to be charged and there is no need for batteries. Simply clip it on your clothing and you’re ready to go!

Waterproof UV sensor so you’re always protected

The sun-a-wear sensor is waterproof, allowing accurate measurement of UV radiation even in wet conditions.
